Community Support Groups

November 28, 2007 at 10:18 pm (Support Groups)

In the community support group we are trying to create an open and supportive environment to share personal stories, give and receive feedback, and address concerns related to relationships, political challenges and the cultural context.  We hope that group is a place where we can collectively develop a deeper understanding of the ways we relate to one another.  This relational awareness can then be used to form and maintain authentic relationships both inside and outside of the group.

So far, we have not only covered the topics mentioned, but also we have addressed validation, the ways that we keep people way from us, how to deal with interpersonal conflict, etc. The group is enthusiastic, dynamic and constantly changing. We hope to start more groups as soon as possible.
